Please continue to pray for the family of Marley Stoneman, a dancer at SCDC who was spunky, intelligent, loving, and full of life. Marley passed away in May from undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes.

In June, we celebrated an incredible woman whose heart and passion have touched so many lives. Happy 50th birthday to our beloved studio owner, Danyele Gardner! Your love for dance has created far more than a studio—it has built a family. Thank you for sharing your gifts, your vision, and your heart with each of us. May this milestone birthday remind you just how deeply you are appreciated and how many lives you’ve helped shape.

In June, we twirled into our summer camp season with The World of Disney Princess dance camp, rocked out with K-pop Magic camps, celebrated the spirit of friendship at Lilo & Stitch camp, and enjoyed a purr-fect week at SuperKitties camp. We closed out June with an opportunity for dancers to explore multiple genres of dance at the World of Dance camp.

South Carolina Dance Company’s ambassador program offers company students an opportunity to create a sense of community – bridging communication and collaboration between the studio and the Lexington area. Students apply to the program, and if selected, extend SCDC’s mission outside of the classroom.

One of the primary responsibilities is to promote the studio by sharing upcoming opportunities and performances. Ambassadors also play an important role in building a strong sense of community by seeking partnership and sponsor opportunities with local businesses.

Above all, ambassadors are a positive role model; demonstrating dedication, responsibility, and respect while encouraging others to do the same.
