Dance Attire Required By South Carolina Dance Company

All students are required to wear the appropriate dance attire to class. No jewelry or street clothing are allowed in any class.

2022-2023 SCDC Dress Code Requirements

Terrific Twos and Combination Classes:

Black or pink leotard with pink tights. Skirts are allowed. Or tight fitting tank tops, sports bras, or crop tops with leggings or booty shorts are permitted. If Combination class includes tap, please wear tights or send socks with your child weekly. Hair must be pulled back securely away from the face.

Ballet Classes (ALL Levels):

Black leotard and pink tights. No skirts are allowed. If you choose to wear a sports bra, it must be solid back. Hair must be pulled back in a tight and secure bun with bobby pins and a hair net.

Jazz, Acro, Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, & Hip Hop/Tot Hop (ALL Levels): 

Tight fitting tank tops, sports bras, or crop tops with leggings or booty shorts are permitted. No loose or baggy clothing, please! Hair must be pulled back securely away from the face.

SCDC Dance Shoe Requirements

Jazz (All Levels) – Tan Bloch Neoflex Jazz shoes (If smaller than a size 10, Bloch Super Jazz are permitted)

Acro – Barefoot – no shoes needed

Ballet (Levels I-IV) – Bloch Pink Leather Split Sole Ballet Shoes

Lyrical (All Levels) – Body Wrappers Twyla II Leather Lyrical Shoes: available on www.discountdance.com or through the studio

Tap (All Levels) – Capezio Black CG17 or Bloch Black SO388L

Hip Hop/Tot Hop (All Levels) – Any tennis shoes are allowed. Specific shoes will be specified closer to recital time.

Combination Classes

Ballet: Pink Leather ballet shoes

Tap: Black patent leather tap shoes

Jazz: Bloch tan jazz shoes

Tumbling: barefoot
